BUILT FOR THOSE
WHO RUN TOWARD IT
JOIN THE TEAM THAT BUILT PRIVATE FIRE IN AMERICA
Rural Metro Fire has been proving the private fire model works since 1948. 75+ years protecting communities, industrial facilities, and critical sites across the country. We operate in 5+ states, spanning industrial contract fire, community fire protection, airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF), and wildland interface.
This isn’t a municipal department with a union contract and a budget cycle. It’s a professional fire service built on performance, accountability, and the belief that the people you protect deserve your best every shift.
WHY WORK HERE

ARFF, HAZMAT, ALS, NFPA: our crews train across disciplines most firefighters never encounter. Industrial fire, aircraft rescue, technical rescue, and wildland interface all in one career.

Petrochemical refineries, aerospace facilities, community districts, wildland interface. The work at RMF is genuinely different. No two sites, no two challenges are the same.

Pay and benefits competitive with the market. The private model means we are funded by performance, and we compensate the professionals who deliver it accordingly.

Firefighter to Engineer to Captain to Operations Leadership. A clear path for those who earn it. RMF promotes from within and invests in the people who drive results.

Real responsibility, real trust. At RMF, crews are small enough that your contribution is visible and large enough that the work has national impact.

Not municipal bureaucracy. At RMF, you are accountable to the outcome: the protection you provide, the response you deliver, the people you keep safe.
