OIL & GAS FIRE PROTECTION

Oil and gas facilities — refineries, processing plants, and pipeline terminals — combine flammable liquid hazards, high-pressure systems, and toxic chemical exposure in environments where a single incident can become a major emergency before a municipal engine arrives. RMF brigades are trained and equipped specifically for hydrocarbon fire and process hazard response.

Why This Matters: Refinery and processing incidents escalate quickly. On-site capability is the difference between a controlled incident and a major event.

WHAT WE DELIVER AT OIL & GAS FACILITIES

Foam Fire Suppression Flammable liquid fire response with foam capability — Class B agents, tank farm fires, and spill containment.

Process Hazard Response High-pressure system failures, hydrocarbon releases, and vapor cloud incidents. Crews trained in Process Safety Management (PSM) hazard recognition.

HazMat & Chemical Response Toxic vapor, acid, and chemical release response with full HazMat team capability on site.

Advanced Life Support EMS On-site paramedics for burn trauma, inhalation, and chemical exposure — the injuries most likely in refinery incidents.

Pre-Incident Planning NFPA 1620 preplans for every unit, tank, and process area. Updated as the facility changes.

Prime Contractor Operations All staffing, apparatus, foam supply, and compliance under a single contract with no subcontractor dependency.

REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE FRAMEWORK

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 — Process Safety Management for highly hazardous chemicals. On-site emergency response teams are a PSM expectation.

NFPA 11 — Low-, medium-, and high-expansion foam systems for flammable liquid storage and process areas.

NFPA 30 — Flammable and combustible liquids, tank farm fire protection requirements.

NFPA 1710 — Response-time and deployment benchmarks that set the standard for on-site brigade readiness.

STAFFING MODEL

On-site brigades at oil and gas facilities are configured for the hazard profile:

  • Shift Captain — PSM-aware command and site coordination
  • Firefighter / Paramedics — Foam-qualified and HazMat operations certified
  • Foam Equipment Operators — Foam proportioning, application, and supply management
  • EMS Paramedics — Burn, chemical exposure, and trauma response
